Director:

Jared Mears: Jared Mears grew up in Newberg, OR attending Camp Yamhill as a camper and counselor as often as possible. He attended Oklahoma Christian University where he received a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He has been working in that field at Harris Thermal Transfer Products since 2004. In 2005 he married Jenny Mears and they have lived in the Newberg Area ever since. He has served at SW Church of Christ in many areas, most recently as a Deacon of Finance, along with coaching youth baseball and basketball teams in his spare time. In 2017 Jared attended Father Child camp with his two children, Hudson and Emmi. While there he learned that they needed a director and volunteered on the spot. He has enjoyed directing this camp because it gives father’s and grandfather’s the opportunity to spend quality time together outdoors with their children and grandchildren. As a director, Jared likes to keep his themes varied by incorporating science, art and sports into the Bible stories, as well as focusing personal and spiritual growth.
