Position Title: Operations Manager

Job Summary:
Oversee Camp staff and operations to enhance the experience of Camp guests and achieve core Camp goals. Coordinate with the Camp Board to continue the growth and future plans of Camp Yamhill.

Education:
A Bachelor’s degree in a related functional area, or the equivalent in experience.

Reports to:
Camp Yamhill Board of Directors

Responsibilities:
1. Manage all Camp staff, independent contractors, and volunteers in a manner designed to achieve core Camp goals. Authorize and approve all Camp vendors and suppliers, and approve all expenditures.
2. Be the official host of Camp Yamhill. Provide host services that enhance the safety and positive experiences for all Camp guests.
3. Manage sales and marketing efforts designed to maximize the utilization of Camp staff and resources and achieve core Camp goals.
4. Establish prices for Camp products designed to maximize revenue while achieving core Camp goals. Negotiate and execute written contracts with all guest groups.
5. Work closely with the Camp Board to develop, approve, and execute an annual Camp budget designed to achieve core Camp goals. Present regular financial and operational reports as requested at monthly Board meetings.
6. Hours will vary, and are not always capable of being scheduled within a forty-hour work week.
7. Duties will be both managerial and hands-on, as required by schedule and circumstances.
8. As time permits, work to develop and maintain positive relationships with Camp neighbors, regional churches and ministers, and social, business, and civic leaders.
9. Other responsibilities may be assigned in other areas not previously described.

Useful Prior Experience:
1. Related work in the Christian Camping Industry.
2. Teaching, coaching, counseling, ministering, or mentoring youth.
3. Supervision and organizational management.
4. Business, sales, or marketing management.

Personal Skills and Attributes:
1. Willing to serve.
2. Disciplined, with strong organizational abilities.
3. Excellent written and verbal skills
4. Demonstrated leadership skills that project a positive energy and character.
5. Capable of consistently using good judgment and problem solving skills.

Occupational Skills and Certifications, capable of acquiring:
1. Challenge Course, Level II
2. Oregon Drivers License.
3. Oregon State Food Handlers License.

Physical Qualifications:
Camp Yamhill operates as a youth camp and adult retreat center, and is located in a rural wilderness environment. The weather and terrain, as well as the living and operating conditions, are often hard and unforgiving. The successful applicant must be in excellent general health, with excellent (or corrected) vision, manual dexterity, hand eye-coordination, and strength. They must be capable of the following actions; pushing, pulling, grabbing, climbing and dead-lifting up to 80 pounds.

Camp Yamhill has a long and successful history operating as a Christian retreat for youth and adults. The successful applicant will be an active and faithful member of churches of Christ, with a reputation to match. They will supply positive recommendations regarding these qualities from local church leaders, and will pass a criminal background check.

Job Summary:
Oversee daily operations of the Camp in a manner designed to enhance the experience of Camp guests. Supervise Camp office and administration.

Education:

Reports to:
Operations Manager

Responsibilities:
1. Prepare contracts and correspond with groups via email or postal service.
2. Respond to daily email.
3. Answer phone.
4. Make bank deposits.
5. Manage informational/solicitation mailings.
6. Manage calendar
7. Develop and Implement Camp policies and procedures with Camp Operations Manager.
8. Update website in a timely manner.
9. Check mail daily
10. Provide necessary information to Camp Accountant
11. Update records and spreadsheets
12. Maintain and manage files and records
13. Invoice customers
14. Copying, printing, and stocking office supplies

Useful Prior Experience:
1. Office management or familiarization with administrative duties.
2. Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
3. Scheduling
4. Computer savvy

Personal Skills and Attributes:
1. Willing to serve.
2. Disciplined and self-motivated, with strong organizational abilities.
3. Excellent written and verbal skills.
4. Positive energy and character.
5. Outward behavior and appearance conducive to the position of Camp Administration Manager.
