3rd & 4th Grade Camp

Jodie Hicks is a member of the Southwest Church of Christ.  She met Brandon at Columbia Christian College and they have been married 28 years with three daughters, one son-in-law and an amazing grandson.  Jodie’s heart is in children’s ministry.  She keeps busy each year with VBS, teaching in children’s worship and leading the Bible Challenge program every spring.  She also loves her work for Portland’s Singing Christmas Tree as the youth cast coordinator.  Jodie first came to 3rd and 4th grade at Camp Yamhill as a counselor in 2006 and hasn’t left since.  “Camp is truly a unique experience.  Having a whole week to minister to a group of children provides opportunities that you don’t find in other experiences.  Building relationships with campers all centered around God’s love for them.  Every facet of camp is dedicated to that goal.  We get to build those relationships, and model that love on water hikes soaking wet, in canoes (hopefully dry), during Bible lessons and small groups, when a camper catches their first fish, craft time, playing soccer and volleyball or just talking things over in a shady spot with our popsicles.  God is at work at Camp Yamhill.”
